Statement from Bishop David Zubik on the bombing of Israel

The Holy Land, which has known violent conflict and suffering for thousands of years, is again being thrown deeper into cycles of bloody reprisal. Everyone who calls Earth home, and especially the peoples of the Holy Land, needs world leaders who will seek solutions to longstanding differences through means other than terrorism, vengeance and war. We must pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for the flourishing of Lebanon and for people with old enmities to discover compassion and help each other along the road to true and lasting peace.
