Celebrate the Ordination to the Priesthood on Saturday, June 28
On Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., Bishop David Zubik will ordain Deacon Daniel Roberts and Deacon Alec Scheuer to the priesthood at Saint Paul Cathedral.
Please pray for these men as they begin their priestly ministry. All are invited to come and celebrate this joyous day.

Meet our men to be ordained
Deacon Daniel J. Roberts
Daniel was born to James and Clare Roberts. He has two older sisters, Erin and Heidi, and one younger sister, Alicia.
Dan’s home parish is Saint Matthew. He attended Saint Sebastian School in Ross Township, followed by North Hills Junior High School. Dan graduated from North Hills Senior High School in 1997. He graduated from Grove City College in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Theater and History. In 2003, Dan attended Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in Acting in 2007.
Dan’s most recent employment was as an adjunct theater professor at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California, and as a freelance actor.
In Fall 2018, Dan was accepted into the priestly formation program and completed two years of pre-theology studies at Saint Paul Seminary and Franciscan University of Steubenville in May 2020.
In Summer 2020, Dan participated in the Summer Priestly Spirituality Program of the Department for Pre-Ordination Formation. Dan was assigned to Theological College and The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, to begin theological studies in August 2020.
In June 2022, Dan began his Pastoral Formation Year assignment at Holy Spirit Parish, Lawrence County. In August 2023, he returned to Theological College and The Catholic University of America, Washington, DC to begin his third year of theological studies.
Dan was ordained to the diaconate on June 1, 2024 and assigned to Holy Spirit Parish, effective June 8, 2024. He returned to Theological College, Washington, DC to begin his fourth year of theological studies in Fall 2024.
Deacon Alec P. Scheuer
Alec was born in South Korea. At the age of four months, he was adopted by Michael and LeAnn Scheuer. Alec has two older sisters, Sarah and Jessica, and one younger sister, Emily, who is also adopted.
Alec’s home parish is Saint James. He attended elementary school at Saint John School in McLean, Virginia, and Westgate Elementary School in Falls Church, Virginia. Alec graduated from Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington, Virginia, in 2009. He enrolled at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland, in August 2009 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Theology in 2013.
Alec’s most recent employment was as the Director of Youth Ministry at Immaculate Conception Parish in Washington, where he oversaw all aspects of youth activity at the parish.
In Fall 2018, Alec was accepted into the priestly formation program to begin pre-theology studies at Saint Paul Seminary and Duquesne University. After completing his second year of pre-theological studies Alec was assigned to Saint Mary’s Seminary, Baltimore, to begin theological studies in August 2020.
In Summer 2020, Alec participated in the Summer Priestly Spirituality Program of the Department for Pre-Ordination Formation.
